Trust Tour - Raising the Bar on Trust

Todd, To say that I was surprised to hear from you would be an understatement, but I am very glad that I did. After reading your Trust Tour updates, I am thrilled for you. This is an unusual, but exciting way to get out of our “comfort zone”, experience “Life”… and improve your health. Trust, who can we trust? In small intervals, maybe, but too much of the world is based on “what’s in it for me” and that is the premis on which it functions. With that in mind, how do I trust that anyone else is actually operating in my best interest. I wish you the best, my friend…you can Trust that!

2/24/10Hey Todd, I think I figured it out ……it’s the Trust/Colabrative Tour. Check out the full circle. First of all I was in trouble years ago at my farm with frozen pipes. At witts end and almost in tears I called my friend Todd asking if he new of a local plumber–Problem solved Duane Cowley to the rescue. Repeat scenario 5 times over the last few years. Trust in Duane, all is well. I can run my Bus operation rather than treck 50 miles to fix plumbing. Now Feb. 2010 my wife goes for a week to Fla. Keys, fine I work /take care of kids, alls well. Untill yesterday, “No water at the farm” I call Duane problem solved. Minutes later I talk to Todd, his feet are on fire after walking from Key Largo to Marathon (half way to Key west) Rather than give up on the quest my wife Karen rescues Todd and talks him into buying a Bike to peddle the rest of the way to Key West. (The real Trust issue is what a coincidence that they are both in the Keys in the first place-the jury is still out on that one) The only question that remains is ???? What do you do with the bike once you make it to Key West ? a) Give it to a homeless guy ? Keep in mind the only way you got to travel the Keys was on the Bikepath which was built for him. Maybe it will turn his life around and he’ll join Charter Partners one day ! Or b) Ship the bike to Duane Cowley ? Maybe Good Deeds don’t always get punished. After all you’re partyin it up with my sugar while Duane and I are working like dogs in the frozen north. Good luck and keep peddlin. p.s. (Call Karen if your butt gets sore) Jealously yours, AL

Nice to see your smiling face and just know, your words of wisdom were used in my Principles of Management class today. We are into culture and organizational design and they were so fitting. I started out with the What’s Love Got to Do With It. Impressive, and the kids really got into the message. I appreciate the ability to bring you into the classroom, in a virtual kind of way.
We are working through Buckingham’s A Strong Year, which is designed to help them make better use of their strengths. Your input is very complementary.
